Happy Birthday to ME! And Wedding Fantasies

Today is my birthday!

I'm 27 :(

Other than that, it'll be a pretty normal day.  Last night our friends T & L came over and played rummy while I scrolled ALL of the wedding category on Pinterest.  We might be serious about this wedding thing on our 10th anniversary.  I was looking at venues yesterday and the one that I fell in love with happens to be right downtown.  I pass it all the time!  I wasn't looking for anywhere close or convenient, but it just happens to be both.

The wedding would be on Friday, March 14th, which is our 10th anniversary.  Is it weird to have a wedding on a Friday afternoon?  I don't really care.  And, more convenience, the venue I love offers a 15% discount on winter weddings.  March is considered a winter month! That's like $1500 in savings!  Now, in order to fund a wedding we'd have to basically forgo buying a car or doing anything with our next two tax returns.  I don't know if that's really feasible.  Basically we're fantasizing for now.  For the first time.

I decided that I'd want a peacock theme.  Nothing too over the top.  Green jewel-toned bridesmaid dresses.  Eric wants to wear a blue tux.  It would work.  I saw some nice bouquets with peacock feathers in them.  Ok, we did get a little out of hand discussing the centerpieces!  There's a pin that features three glass bowls stacked on top of each other, big on the bottom, small on top, with little sprigs of greenery in them.  Well L came up with the idea that the top bowl could house a beta fish, because she considers them the peacock of fish.  OMG!  A blue or purple beta on each table?  With a floating candle?  And some sort of game to see who wins the centerpiece?  YES!  I really love it, I don't care how impractical it is lol.

A combination of those three things... it would look cool, right?  Right?

And then, after all of this, at like 1 am, my computer decides it's had enough.  I don't know what happened, there was no virus or anything, but it was like my entire C drive disappeared.  There was NOTHING left.  No restore point.  A bunch of empty files...  I had to restore the computer to its original factory settings.  So, not only did I lose my camera this week, but also all of the pictures saved on the computer.  ::sigh::

BUT most of the important pictures are already on FB, and I did get the computer up and running again, so I really can't complain.  It could have been a lot worse.  I could have been cut off from the internet!  I don't know what I would do!  LOL

  1. Oh my gosh, girl! I can't believe you lost everything on your computer! I'm so sorry, and how double sucky since you just lost your camera?! Ugh. *big hugs*

I love the wedding theme idea. I love the idea for the centerpieces and the colors and everything you mentioned! We haven't had a wedding either and I would love to renew our vows one day and have a simple ceremony. I really just want to wear a wedding dress, say vows and just keep the rest simple!

    1. Yeah, I never really though I would want a wedding. I didn't want to do the courthouse thing though, so I always told Eric that we would either get married in Vegas or on a cruise ship. Being a part of my sister-in-law's wedding gave me the fever though! At least wedding fever is safer than baby fever!

  2. Happy Birthday, Nicole! I love the colors of your template and the wedding colors also sound fabulous! Even Hubby, who just walked in and saw your site, says that you have good taste. :)

I think if you really want to do the wedding, then find creative ways that friends and family can contribute to cut costs. All the best! Oh, and I'm glad your favorite pics were already on FB. Losing pics is just awful!

    1. Thank you for the birthday wishes! And the compliments to the blog! I just redid it last week, and there's more to be done, but I'm loving it so far, and I think it's finally permanent :D

I know that there are a lot of ways to cut costs for a wedding. I'm sure if we are really serious and put a lot of DIY work into it, we'll find a way!

  3. first of all, happy birthday!! But, so sorry about your computer!! I completely broke into tears when I accidentally dropped our external hard drive...the one that houses ALL our kids' photos from birth to present. Then, my husband fished out another....yes, he actually had a backup hard drive of the hard drive!!! :S
